How long does my ambassadorship last?
Your ambassadorship lasts for 12 months from the date of registration.
How long does my Distillery Privilege Card last?
Your card is valid for 12 months from the date of registration. It entitles you to free entry to the Glenfarclas visitors centre, a complimentary tour of the distillery for two, a tasting session and 10% discount at the distillery shop and online shop. Please note that Glenfarclas does not sell whisky from its online shop. Contact Glenfarclas direct to find out where your nearest stockist is. Go to www.glenfarclas.co.uk
Can I visit the distillery?
Yes, you can visit the distillery by appointment with Glenfarclas. You will receive directions to the distillery and booking instructions once you have registered your gift. You will need to take your Privilege Card with you when you visit to be eligible for a complimentary tour and tasting session. Due to licensing laws you must book in advance in order to be eligible for the tasting session.
Can I take someone with me?
Yes, your Privilege Card entitles you and a guest to the distillery tour.
Can children go on the tour?
Children can go on the tour but you must be aged 18 or over to take part in the tasting session. Please take proof of age with you when you visit.
How long does it take for me to receive my certificate, directions to the distillery and my Distillery Privilege Card?
These will be dispatched within 28 days from the date of registration. Occasionally, factors outside of Gift Republic’s control, may affect delivery times.
What do I get on my tour?
Your tour will be led by a knowledgeable guide. It includes free entry to the visitors centre, a tour of the production facility, a tasting session at the visitors centre and time to relax with a dram in the Ship’s Room. You will learn all about malt whisky production as well as the many unique aspects of Glenfarclas. Afterwards, why not browse the distillery shop with its selection of Glenfarclas whiskies and gifts? Bear in mind that Glenfarclas is a working distillery and there may be times when certain areas of the facility are closed due to ongoing production.
Does my Privilege Card entitle me to anything else?
If your complimentary tasting session leaves you thirsty for more, your card also entitles you to 10% discount off the price of Glenfarclas Family Cask whiskies at the Mash Tun whisky bar in Aberlour. Please take proof of age with you. The bar of the Mash Tun is crafted from Oregon pine wood once used in the whisky making process!
Are there any other perks of this gift?
On the directions sheet sent with your certificate and Privilege Card you will find a username and password which will enable you to enter an ‘Ambassadors Only’ section of the Glenfarclas website, reserved exclusively for Gift Republic’s Become a Whisky Ambassador gift recipients. Here you will find ‘Ambassadors Only’ merchandise, detailed directions, further information on local attractions, additional information on the Mash Tun and more. Once registered the recipient will be sent the location of the distillery; it is after this point that they are welcomed to visit the distillery for a tour and tasting session.
